Home manifesto, 2025

Concept, Design & Production: Freya Mathilda Tiarks
Just as a room can feel like home, a piece of clothing can, too. It is a shell that the body can feel at home in. Home, to me, is a manifestation of the feelings of safety, familiarity and belonging. Home manifesto explores the topic of ‘home within garments’ as well as the anxiety of not feeling safe in your own body and the accompanying lack of finding home within yourself.
The inside of the shirt, symbolising the interior of the (textile) home, is screen-printed with writing and a map about this. The project was activated through a performance that revealed the writing on the interior walls of the (textile) home.
